The answer can be a combination of two factors: too much food intake and sedentary life. However, one would have to commit to a regulated and healthier eating habit and live a more active life. This will help them get in better shape even faster.

Eat Healthier

Far from actually measuring the amount of calories that you eat, it is basically being aware of the main ingredients of the food that you regularly enjoy. It does involve taking a look at caloric content, but it also means picking food that will do more good to your body instead of temporarily leave you a good taste in the mouth.

These include avoiding greasy fast food and junk food. There is a reason they are called "junk" in the first place. This also means using lesser salt or sugar in your meals. Food prepared at home is generally healthier than those found in the microwave section. It also means having to enjoy the food you have made.

Be Active

At first, it would mean having to get up to pick up the remote and slowly develop a habit of cleaning the entire house. When the body is more active, more calories are burned; therefore, it pays to start moving around.

Walk around the neighborhood or use the stairs to reach the lower floors. Find a sport you are passionate about, and you will not just get in better shape but be happier as well.
