Alright listen, I understand what you’re trying to do. I’ve been there myself, and I know how good it feels to know that you’re about to buy something that’s going to change your life forever; but here’s the thing – are you really all in or are you just faking yourself out?

Here’s my experience with supplements as well the observations I’ve made of family, friends, and clients that have also used supplements to lose weight. The first thing is the belief that just buying the product means you’re on the way to fat loss.

This used to happen to me all the time at one point in my life. I would see some new pills that were all the rage, jump online, buy them, and act like I actually did something that day to help myself lose weight. I didn’t do anything but spend money; but you couldn’t tell me that though. In my mind, I had taken positive action.

See unless you start building up habit-forming muscles, like developing the will to eat the right foods even when you don’t feel like it, then you’re not really doing anything at all. I know that may sound harsh, but we’re here to burn fat – not to make you feel good about your inner-puppy.

Ok I admit, that last part was a little rude. I’ll dial it down a notch; but seriously though, unless you’re taking responsibility for what happens t your life, and stop handing that power off to some inanimate object, like a diet pill, you are always going to be at the mercy of whatever whim you feel like following.

Here’s the thing, if you’re overweight, then the way your brain, and willpower muscles, are currently set up, that whim will most likely have nothing to do with fat burning principles. So one of the primary fat burning principles you can sear into your mind is that you are responsible for everything that happens in your life. The minute you understand that nothing in this world happens unless you were somehow involved in it, even things that seem totally out of your control – you can start making real progress going forward.

Another observation is that even when people receive their diet pills or supplements, they almost always mess up the instructions found on the bottle. If it says drink with water, they drink it with orange juice. If it reads, “drink after breakfast,” they drink it before lunch on an empty stomach.

This doesn’t happen all the time, and it is never as extreme as I’m making it out to be; but over time, and I’ve seen it again and again, the way they were supposed to consume these supplements gets changed so that when you take a step back to see what you’re doing – you notice you’re nowhere close to the instructions.

Lastly, too many people believe the pills are going to work on their own, with no help from you. I see people take their supplements everyday like clockwork, they understand they need to take these things the right way to get the results they’re after – but they never supplement the supplements with fat burning principles!

They hardly drink any water, they never make it a point to move themselves every day, they a non-food condensed diet, and they live a life that will do anything, and everything, but help them burn fat. They truly believe that the pill is a law unto itself, and that the magic it contains will work past anything they do otherwise.

This why I asked you the question, “Are you really all in or are you just faking yourself out?” Unless you are ready to burn fat, and continue everything it takes to make that dream a reality, than all you’re doing is faking yourself out.

And here’s the deal – you can fake yourself all you want, I don’t recommend it, but just know that if you do, you will never move one step closer to burning that fat once and for all. I faked myself out for years, and I knew what I was doing, but I just didn’t want to deal with the responsibility.

I don’t know how you grew up, but I was never taught the value of hard work, and the power of being responsible for your own actions. Don’t get me wrong, my parents loved all over me, and they were great people – but they missed a couple of steps in the parenting book.

As you can tell from the title of this page, wacky titles get people’s attention, doesn’t it? Before we start, are you seriously looking around the net for, “1500 Calorie Metabolic Fat Burning Fruit Salad Crash Diets That Work Fast?” If so, WHY?!!

Please stop it! Seriously friend, take a chill pill . . . in fact, don’t take any pills. Just grab an apple, and slice the sucker up as you read this article – it’ll calm you down, while the slices will help satiate your eyes. People tend to eat with their eyes, so if you can create the illusion of “bulk,” on your plate, you can literally fake yourself into feeling good about having something as simple as an apple.

Ok, back into the article, and the crash diet you wanted to get on.  You know, and if you don’t know, you will soon, that diets do not work. They never work, and will never work, because they are not based in reality. In the movie, “Pain and Gain,” with Mark Wahlburg, the guy looked like a mini-bodybuilder – how did he do that?

He was on a special diet, and weight training program, for several weeks before shooting began. He also took supplements that helped him look BIG – but within a few weeks of wrapping the movie up, he looked like the guy we have become accustomed to seeing in most of his movies. Now how the heck did that happen?

Simple really, he stopped doing what he was doing. If you are dieting – once you stop, if you do not replace the foods you normally eat, with a long-term approach to eating and working out – you too will start going back to how you looked. For most people, they happen to be on the other side of the spectrum. They don’t shrink back to who they were, as in Mark’s case, they grow back into who they were.

You literally cannot get out of a three month period without at least 2 major diets hitting the book shelves.

Ladies and gentleman, I give you the Acai Diet.

Even Oprah, who talked about Acai berries on her show, posted comments that clearly distance her from any products that promote Acai berries as the reason for weight loss. We’re talking about a lady who has had her own battles with weight, and is open to hearing about anything that might help her lose weight. Even she’s not feeling the Acai Diet any longer – get the picture?

And here’s the challenge I have with saying beware of marketers – I’m a marketer too! I guess I have to figure out a new label for the marketer’s that use hype and gimmicks to get your attention, and sell you a bill of goods, while never having the intention of getting you those goods in the first place.

There are instances where someone sells you something that never works, ever – but they honestly believed it did work. Maybe they didn’t do their due diligence on the product, or whatever the case may be, but at the end of the day – you weren’t seeing the results they were guaranteeing. They should be held accountable for their lack of research, but it doesn’t mean they were criminals.

Honestly, some of the shenanigans that take place online today is downright criminal. It’s been going on for years, and it will continue to go on. As someone who is serious about losing weight, you need to make the decision as to which road you are going to take. Are you going to continue chasing after each fad diet, as they become more ridiculous and outrageous; or are you going to start using proven methods to get you the results you truly desire.
